Marty Stauffer, a Whatcom County native with nearly 12 years of insurance experience, launched Stauffer Insurance on August 7, 2019.
The agency is located at 1903 Front St. in Fair Square in Lynden, which also includes the Little Red Wagon and Foxxy Brown’s retail stores, and is across from Tractor Supply.
Stauffer Insurance offers policies for homes, vehicles, boats, earthquakes, motorcycles (newly required as of July 28) and small businesses. As an independent agent, Stauffer will work with insurance carriers Safeco, Oregon Mutual, Nationwide, Pemco, Travelers and others.
A Custer resident and Meridian High School graduate, Stauffer said the most valuable commodity he may offer is personal attention.
“I’ll take as long as needed to answer a client’s questions and explain options — the extra touch that online agencies and large offices may not offer,” Stauffer said. “I’ll also meet with them at their home or office, saving them time.”

Marty has been our agent for 7+ years, covering many policies for us – homeowners, tenant occupied homeowners, renters, automobile and RV. Every single interaction with him has been pleasant, and typically even fun (which isn’t a word you can use very often about insurance). Marty is incredibly thorough, understanding and personable.
When we had our house broken into, and a long list of stolen items, he helped us during every step of the process. He gave us great advice on navigating the situation, and was a source of stability when our world felt out of control. I recommend Marty to everyone I know. You won’t find a more honest, dependable, true-to-his-word agent.Lindy Jewell
